This mid-installation shot shows exactly how a French drain is built — perforated pipe laid in a gravel bed, wrapped in filter fabric to keep soil out while letting water in. The trench intercepts groundwater moving through the slope and channels it to a safe discharge point. This is the right way to build a French drain that lasts.
